Ramboll assists clients in formulating visions, strategies, planning and design in cities and urban areas for green field development or urban redevelopment and retrofitting. Working together with leading architects, Ramboll is consultant for Scandinavia’s largest city development project in the Nordhavn district of Copenhagen. Creating sustainable, liveable and smart cities

Striving for more sustainable, liveable and smart cities, we are in particular focusing on concepts and solutions that combat the impacts of climate change on cities. We are internationally recognised for our role in developing the Copenhagen Climate Plan and for bringing the Copenhagen Cloudburst plan to life as well as through a number of award winning projects from all over the world.

Our holistic service includes Ramboll Studio Dreiseitl’s advanced competences in landscape architecture, environmental engineering and urban hydrology, which are applied to the development of liveable and resilient public spaces that integrate natural systems. The studio’s internationally-renowned portfolio includes the blue-green infrastructure for Bishan Park in Singapore and Potsdammer Blatz in Berlin.

Through Ramboll’s Liveable Cities Lab (LCL), we remain at the forefront of driv-ing the liveable city agenda. Through ground-breaking research, urban design masterclasses and initiation projects, LCL facilitates knowledge exchange with leading universities, research institutes, cities and private organisations.

Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park

Bishan Park is one of the most popular parks in the heartlands of Singapore. As part of a much-needed park upgrade and plans to improve the capacity of the Kallang channel along the edge of the park, works were carried out simultaneously to transform the utilitarian concrete channel into a naturalised river.

Gullbergsvass and Gothenburg’s new RiverCity

Gullbergsvass is one of seven neighbourhoods in central Gothenburg’s port area to be transformed into the attractive new ‘RiverCity’. Ramboll performed a feasibility study for the 90 hectare district as a basis for stakeholder dialogue on the development. RiverCity promises to position Gothenburg as one of the top five cities in Europe for growth potential.
