The world's largest solar heating system

In South Korea, we are performing a feasibility study of the world's largest solar heating project for the Institute of Renewable Energy and Environment (IREE). The future solar heating system will have an output of approximately 300 GWh annually, which will make it the largest system of its kind in the world. It is expected that the solar panels will take up an area of between 200,000 and 500,000 square metres - the equivalent of 30-70 football fields.

South-Jutland stores the sun’s heat in the world's largest pit heat storage

In the Danish town of Vojens, a 70,000 m2 solar heating plant is being established. The heat is absorbed to heat water, which is then transported to a 200 million litre pit, for storage. Here, the water is saved for district heating consumers to use during the autumn and winter season. Vojens District Heating and Ramboll have designed and constructed the record breaking project.
