Our consultants evaluated the conversion of several thousand feet of dock into outdoor recreational use with access via footbridges and walkways and assessed contaminated soils and surfaces. We also performed heavy metal soil sampling, conducted a human health risk assessment and developed a remedial action plan. We conducted soil removal and implemented institutional controls that supported various types of public activities for the future park, including landscaping, bike paths, a dog run, multi-use pavilions, greenspace and event venues.
As a result of Ramboll’s expertise, this project earned a “Ready for Reuse” certification from USEPA, and the area is now a proud example of Ramboll’s liveable cities concept. We continue to work toward our “Liveable Cities” goals by bringing the best value to society, creating a culture of inspiration, and implementing better-integrated urban infrastructure and design while at the same time managing challenges and reducing environment-related risks.
