A major refurbishment saw the former Dickens & Jones department store in central London transformed into a mixed retail and commercial venue. As part of this broader programme, we helped engineer one of the new retail units to house Armani Exchange's flagship UK store, which, at 11,700 sq ft, was the brand's largest store in the world at the time of completion.
We helped transform the basement, ground and first floors into a showcase for AX's diffusion line, working closely with the architect to deliver an industrial aesthetic that suited the mood of the clothes. Lighting options were selected to match the dark, edgy look that has replaced the neutral tones formerly associated with the brand.
Floors throughout were levelled. A steel and glass stair was inserted to link the ground and first floors. An LED screen — the largest in London — was fitted to the back of the store.
With only sixteen weeks from first site access to opening day, our efforts were essential in keeping the fit-out running on schedule so the shop could open in time for for pre-Christmas trade.
