Ramboll performed a study to evaluate the technical pre-feasibility of an LNG plant at Stigsnæs Gulfhavn Oil Terminal. The study comprised a feasibility evaluation of the terminal together with cost estimation, and a 3D visualisation of the terminal layouts.

Providing first class facilities

Stigsnæs Gulfhavn Oil Terminal (SGOT) is located on the Danish west coast of Zealand in a growing traffic area that services both Western Europe and the Baltics. SGOT has an extensive record in safe storage and handling of jet fuel, gas oil, and diesel products for the leading companies in the oil industry.

Thorough technical assessments

Ramboll assessed the technical aspects of both a LNG Bunkering and a large-scale regasification terminal. In addition, process simulations for equipment sizing and heating/power requirements formed the basis of the Mechanical Equipment List, as well as the choice of the regasification technology in regards to the large-scale terminal. The knowledge obtained from these evaluations was ultimately used for the cost estimation of the terminal.

3D layout illustration

The project also incorporated an interactive part where the most feasible layout of the terminal concepts were prepared and illustrated with a 3D visualisation.

Eventually, the project also included an overall evaluation of required marine facilities/structures and an environmental screening study.
