Høg-Jæren Energy Park is run by Jæren Energi AS, which is owned by Norsk Vindenergi AS and Eurus Energy. Eurus Energy is a major player within wind energy projects worldwide with their ownership of approx 1,900 MW in operation.
Norsk Vindenergi AS developed the project until approved concession for construction was granted. Then Norsk Vindenergi entered a partnership with Eurus Energy. Norsk Vindenergi AS’s goal is to utilize Norway’s extensive potential for wind energy, not only to increase Norway’s renewable energy mix, but also through export of renewable energy to European countries and as a sustainable means to reduce gas emissions.
Based on Eurus Energy’s knowledge of Ramboll as an international provider of services within offshore wind power projects, a contract was entered with Ramboll as the owner’s engineer for roads, turbine foundations, electrical power infrastructure, buildings and interface coordination.
Ramboll has been responsible for the planning and definition of contractor scopes, conceptual design, tendering and procurement and project/contract management. Ramboll is also responsible for construction management on site and close follow-up on the commissioning processes.
The project is the first wind power project of many to come in this part of Norway.
