The bioenergy plant established by Maabjerg BioEnergy Drift A/S presents a green line (manure and energy crops) and an industrial line (sewage slurry and industrial waste). The project also covers the connecting pipelines to Holstebro Waste Water Treatment Plant, Vinderup CHP plant and transloading station, in total 50 km connection slurry- and gas pipelines.
The plant will support an environmentally friendly development in both the agricultural and the energy sector in the region. Thus, the bio-energy plant will reduce the discharge of nutrients (phosphor and nitrogen) to the water environment; reduce odour problems related to the spreading of manure on fields, and result in an improved utilisation of nutrients in the manure. The bioenergy plant will in this way strengthen the competitiveness of the agricultural sector.
At the same time, the local energy production, using renewable resources, will increase. In total, the plant will result in a reduction in greenhouse emissions by more than 50,000 tonnes CO2-equivalents annually.
Ramboll has contributed with all the project's consultancy services from the start of the project: identification and contracting of biomass basis, development of project concept, authority approvals, design, tender and contracting, supervision and commissioning.
Approximately. 800,000 tonnes per year of manure, organic waste from food industries and municipal sludge.
21 million Nm3 biogas per year
