The diverse project scope includes new signal and security works, construction of a bridge, a new station platform and upgrading of technical systems. The track length is approximately 3500 m.
The project will serve to create better conditions for people as well as commercial-life in the region. Trains will leave more often and journey times will be reduced. The main objective is a 100 percent increase in goods transport within the year 2020, which will help boost commercial activity and stimulate employment.
Increase speed and capacity
The Norwegian National Rail Administration (Jernbaneverket) initiated the project to increase both speed and capacity on the Hell to Værnes line and thereby improve transportation for thousands of people every day. Jernbaneverket is leading the project management of the initiative.
Ramboll is developing a detail plan and construction plans for the scheme. We have all the necessary technology and engineering expertise to successfully deliver the project.
Next expected railroad-project
Ramboll was awarded the project due to our proven track record on other relevant schemes and our long-standing relationship with Jernbaneverket.
The French company, RFR, will undertake the architectural design of the bridge in conjunction with Ramboll specialists. Jernbaneverket's next expected rail scheme will be the Bjørnfjell project on the Ofot line in northern Norway.
