Ramboll has been commissioned by Ring 3 Light Rail I/S (owned by the Danish Ministry of Transport, eleven municipalities and The Capital Region of Denmark) to carry out both the conceptual design and tender material for the transport system, as well as the Environmental Impact Assessment for said system. The EIA has particular focus on noise and traffic, while also encompassing nature impacts, impacts on buildings and wastewater issues. Ramboll is furthermore responsible for authority approvals and public information for local citizens and numerous other stakeholders, and prepares and participates in public hearings, in close coordination with the authorities.

One of the rewarding features about this project is the very close coordination that exists between the different project groups, which benefits the overall project and the environment, involving e.g. new infrastructure, connecting transport systems, architecture and landscape planning.

It is expected that the light rail system will be finalised in 2020.
