WEF's 92nd annual technical exhibition and conference will take place September 21–25 in Chicago, IL.
The Water Environment Federation (WEF) has selected Ramboll Principal Andy Edwards to receive a lifetime achievement award for devoting his nearly 50-year career to the field of industrial water and wastewater engineering design and operations support.
The W. Wesley Eckenfelder Industrial Water Quality Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes and honors an individual who has made substantial and measurable contributions related to the improvement of water quality.
“I am humbled to receive this award,” Andy Edwards said. “Lifetime certainly applies – I have spent much of my life on innovative projects.”
Andy Edwards will accept the award at the 2019 Water Environment Federation’s Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC), taking place September 21–25 in Chicago, IL.
“Andy has spent his career striving to improve the field of industrial wastewater management, and he also understands the importance of sharing this knowledge with others in the industry,” said John Driver, Department Manager for Water in the Americas. “He has the experience and long-term dedication to our industry to more than qualify for this prestigious honor.”
Andy is also a former colleague, coauthor and student of the late Dr. Eckenfelder, for whom the award is named.
“I had close association with Wes for many years,” Andy said. “Eckenfelder was a truly iconic character. He took wastewater engineering from art to science. He was a legendary individual and member of the profession.”
