The environmental remediation industry is constantly evolving, and advancements in technology are leading to breakthroughs that are changing how organizations approach complex environmental challenges. At the forefront of green and sustainable remediation, Ramboll is helping to drive how organizations can sustainably address regulated and emerging contaminants through innovation and technological advancements.

That was the message from Ramboll to the environmental remediation industry at Battelle’s Fifth International Symposium on Bioremediation and Sustainable Environmental Technologies on April 15–18 in Baltimore, Maryland. The Bioremediation Symposium is a forum for sharing research results, practical experiences and opportunities associated with advances in bioremediation and green and sustainable practices in remediation.

Bringing our expertise to Battelle

During the symposium, our experts co-authored nine presentations and posters and chaired three sessions, covering a diverse range of topics in sustainable remediation practice, including recent advances in enhanced anaerobic bioremediation, aerobic co-metabolic bioremediation and phytoremediation, as well as use of electrochemical methods for treating perchlorate and isotopic tools to document natural attenuation of benzene. We also discussed state-of-the-practice techniques for remediation of contaminants in low-permeability soils and plume management.
