Claire is a Ramboll Project Director and the Project Management Team Director in Chester. She has worked in the UK Civil/Structural Engineering Industry since 1984 and has broad technical and management experience of civil, transportation, marine, geotechnical and environmental engineering projects.

She has experience of all stages of project delivery from feasibility, through options appraisal, orders and applications (statutory process), public inquiry, business case and procurement to construction. She has particular expertise in project management of multi-discipline/multi-consultant teams on major projects and has been a PRINCE2 Practitioner since 2007.

Since 2001 Claire has been involved in the Project Management of and provision of Technical Advice for the £1.86bn DBFO Mersey Gateway Project for Halton Borough Council, which is a major bridge crossing of the river Mersey, including a three year secondment between 2006 and 2009 as Project Manager for the client's project team during the statutory processes and public inquiry, and being a member of the core technical dialogue team during the competitive dialogue procurement.

In June 2013 Claire was appointed as Ramboll’s Project Manager and Nominated Representative for The European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT) project, which is a major astronomical programme involving the construction of a 40m class optical telescope in the Atacama Desert, Chile. Ramboll are providing technical support to the client, The European Southern Observatory (ESO), for the procurement of the design and construction of the Dome and Main Structure and Claire is acting as the single point of contact and coordinator of all activities taking place under this contract including specialist support services.

The competition-winning design is for a glass-clad tower with a distinctive twisted profile that tapers to a rounded point — evoking the contour of a gas flame. Inspired by the pentagonal plan of an ancient Scandinavian fort believed to have once occupied the site, the tower consists of a central concrete core ringed by five square interlocking floorplates.
